An important note
Don’t worry if your child doesn’t repeat the words right away.
Right now, the most important thing is to create interest, playfulness, and a warm emotional atmosphere.
When young children are learning a language,
understanding comes first, and speaking comes later.So:
- don’t translate the Spanish phrases into English;
- don’t ask your child to “repeat” them;
- don’t quiz your child on what they know.
Let your child simply listen, watch, play, and gradually begin to recognize familiar words and sentence patterns through context and shared emotions.
